In celebration of World Animal Day, UG WagWag, the official ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina for this global event, organized an inspiring educational initiative for the youth. On this special day, students from the central and regional elementary schools Vojislav Ilić in Bočac and Krupa na Vrbasu participated in two engaging presentations titled “A Proper Approach to Stray Animals.”

The goal was simple yet profound: to foster understanding and compassion among children aged 7 to 14 toward stray animals. By guiding these young minds, WagWag sought to demystify common misconceptions about stray animals and equip students with essential knowledge on how to treat them with respect, care, and empathy.

Throughout the presentations, students actively engaged in discussions, asked thoughtful questions, and shared their own experiences, creating a positive atmosphere of learning. The topics covered ranged from understanding the needs of stray animals to practical advice on what to do when encountering them in their community. Educators from WagWag emphasized the importance of kindness and responsibility, encouraging students to become advocates for animals in their own neighborhoods.

For many children, this was their first introduction to the topic, and the lessons learned will likely leave a lasting impact. These efforts not only promote awareness but also aim to inspire future generations to take a stand in reducing the number of abandoned animals and to foster a culture of care.

UG WagWag continues to play a pivotal role in the fight for animal welfare in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By reaching out to young students, they are planting seeds of change, teaching the next generation to treat all living beings with respect and kindness.

As we celebrate World Animal Day, let us remember that the future of animal welfare lies in the hands of those we educate today. Thanks to initiatives like this, the future is looking brighter for the many animals in need of a helping hand.
