The humanitarian actions that take place as part of the WagWag campaign are primarily held to raise funds for the treatment of stray animals. In addition, this project was created to expand the community of animal lovers by introducing the public to how much love one animal can bring to one family. T-shirts with innovative and modern designs of pets provide a simple but very effective way of starting a story and raising awareness among citizens about pets and their importance for the whole community.
Every new project, especially this one, requires great logistical and volunteer support and excellent communication between the organizers, promoters and, ultimately, all the people who want to participate. From the first moment, it is necessary to make a striking but accessible marketing that will attract a large number of visitors. Nowadays, reaching people who are generally not in the volunteer community is very difficult, and this is recognized as a big problem. The community of volunteers is sometimes very closed, and even people who are animal lovers and owners are often not sufficiently informed about the problem that the associations are struggling with. That is why it isn’t easy to draw the public’s attention to the actual costs of rescuing animals and how much effort is required in the process, from rescuing to adopting an animal.
To develop awareness and spread the word about these problems, WagWag came up with the idea of selling t-shirts to cover the costs of treating stray animals. Citizens Association WagWag has a large number of volunteers from numerous professional areas and spheres at any moment, and such a team represents an excellent start to any project planning. The association has already had excellent cooperation with the printing house with proven high-quality communication that enables and represents a solid foundation on which to build and improve. The graphic design, look, and price of the t-shirt was first tested through social media, and the results gave an additional boost to the association to implement this course of action.
From the first day of conceptualizing and implementing the idea to the first printed T-shirt, it is necessary to maintain a professional and high level of organization and excellent communication between the volunteers and everyone participating in the project. This is the only way to draw attention to the activity and seriousness of the association, raise awareness about stray animals, inform the public via social networks, television, internet portals and other media and, ultimately, collect the money needed for treatment and covering veterinary costs.
T-shirts with the inscriptions “In this T-shirt, I feed the cats around the building” and “In this T-shirt, I walk the dog” create great interest and activity on social networks, where tens of thousands of people have seen the idea of the project. Several hundred comments of support and sharing of the post help to recognize WagWag as a brand that represents humanity, innovative ideas, proactivity and consistently accurate and fast information.
